What is Enrichment?
Enrichment is an additional educational program that enriches the skills that have been taught in the preschool classroom. This classroom includes literacy, science, social studies, cooking, mathematics and arts & crafts. This classroom helps prepare your child for Kindergarten by reinforcing such skills as their fine motor, eye-hand coordination, thinking & cognitive skills and problem solving. It helps build their social interactions by working in small groupings and also with one on one interaction with the teacher.
The Enrichment Program is available in two formats:
1.) Supplemental Enrichment Program: this program is for those students who ONLY want to attend on an occasional basis.
2.) Preschool & Enrichment Combination Program: this program is for those students that would like to parallel their preschool and enrichment schedule on a regular basis.
Policies & Procedures:
Supplemental Enrichment Program Guidelines:
1.) Cost – $12.00 per day
2.) Your enrichment schedule cannot match your preschool schedule on a consistent basis. If so you refer to the combination program for pricing.
3.) Sign-up must be turned in the Friday before the class is offered. We will be enrolling 10 children per class each day. Enrollment in this class will be done on a first come first serve basis. Sign up can also be done on a monthly basis.
4.) Payment for your Enrichment Class needs to be made separately from your weekly and/or monthly tuition. These need to be two separate checks. Tuition checks go into the school mailbox and Enrichment class forms and checks go directly to the front desk. Please do not put Enrichment checks in the school mailbox!
5.) Each class will begin at 1:00 p.m. and end at 3:30 p.m. If your child is enrolled in preschool they will stay through lunch & recess from 12:00 – 1:00. Please remember to purchase or pack a lunch for that day!
6.) Each class will take place in Room 211
Preschool & Enrichment Combination Program:
1.) Enrollment will take place at the time you register your child for the school year. You can choose a 2 day (Tu/Th) 3 day (M/W/F) or 5 day (M – F) program. You do not need to register your child’s attendance each week with Ms. Marlin.
2.) Payment is due the Friday before care is needed. Please place your check in the tuition box.
3.) All guidelines /requirements of the tuition contract are in full effect while enrolled in this combination program.
4.) All Discipline Policies are in full effect while enrolled in this combination program.
5.) All Sickness policies are in full effect while enrolled in this combination program.
6.) If you have chosen the Preschool/Enrichment Combination you can put that check in the tuition box on a weekly basis.
Who can attend?
All children who are currently enrolled in our PK4 or PK5 classes
What if my child is sick the day of enrichment, will I receive a refund?
Supplemental Enrichment Program: No – you will not receive a refund but will receive a credit for the following week’s classes. The only way a credit will be given is if you call into the school and let us know that the absence was due to sickness. No credit will be given unless a call is received and/or a doctor’s note is received when student returns to school. The school will then issue a credit coupon that must be submitted when you register for the following week’s enrichment class.
Preschool / Enrichment Combination Program: there is no credit that will apply to this program. Tuition Contract guidelines apply to this program.
What if the school is closed due to emergency or inclement weather, will I receive a refund?
Supplemental Enrichment Program: No – you will not receive a refund but will receive a credit for the following week’s classes. The school will issue a credit coupon that must be submitted when you register for the following week’s enrichment class. No coupon, no credit can be applied.
Preschool / Enrichment Combination Program: there is no credit that will apply to this program. Tuition Contract guidelines apply to this program.
What if my child has to leave the class due to behavioral problems? Will a refund of monies or a new class day sign-up be given?
Supplemental Enrichment Program: Any child who has to leave the classroom due to behavioral problems will not be given a refund of monies neither will a new class be assigned. Any child having to leave the class will not be permitted to return to the enrichment class for one week.
Preschool/Enrichment Combination Program: The school discipline policy will be in effect and a student’s return to the classroom will be at the discretion of the school directors.
What if my child refuses to go into the class after I have paid for the class?
Supplemental Enrichment Program: No refunds will be given to children who refuse to go into the class. A call will be placed to the home for a parent/guardian to come and pick.
Preschool / Enrichment Combination Program: The school is always open to changing a child’s classroom schedule. We ask that communication with the school director’s is done in a timely manner and we require one week’s notice to change a child’s schedule.
