We are a theme-based/center-based school where each day your student will be involved in nine areas of learning:

Literacy: We provide a literacy-rich environment at Christian Life Academy. We provide a structured approach to teaching the basic language skills of reading, writing, and spelling. Students will be exposed to a variety of books, they will apply a wide range of strategies to comprehend, interpret, evaluate and appreciate text. Students will be listening to rhyming stories and songs and engaging in word play activities.

Math: We provide a unique learning experience for developing concepts by hands-on learning. Your students will be involved in sequencing, matching, shapes, weighing and measuring and counting. Your student will learn numbers and be involved in activities that build an understanding of how they fit into our everyday life. Teachers facilitate mathematical learning when they encourage children to problem-solve, reason, communicate, connect and represent.

Arts and Crafts: We provide a creative atmosphere where we love to have your student explore with all types of materials. Your student will be involved in easel painting, finger painting, collages, glueing, coloring, pasting and anything else they can get their hands on. Fine motor skills are developed and eye-hand coordination is improving all while your student is having fun creating.

Social Studies: We provide opportunities where your student will be learning about the world they live in and the world that surrounds them. We begin with children’s personal experiences and their initial understanding of themselves in relation to their families, homes and schools. Gradually students expand their understanding to include communities and the larger world.

Science: We provide experiences where your student will be hands-on in water-play, exploring how things go together or how they feel. We will learn about sea animals, farm animals, wild animals and more. Teachers will guide experiments, gather data and make conclusions which will help your student think and problem-solve.

Dramatic Play: We provide children with creative ways to expand their imagination as they create and dream with many props and costumes. Students are given many avenues in which they can perform and speak and pretend in front of their peers and at certain events throughout the year in front of their parents.

Music: We provide music in our daily experience at Christian Life Academy. Children enjoy singing, using instruments, rhymes and finger plays. They will participate in movement to go along with their songs and interaction with teachers to encourage and explore their beginning understanding of music formation.

Physical Movement: We provide opportunities everyday for your child to be involved in gross motor activities. Whether they are running, jumping, skipping or climbing on our playground or inside in our full-size gymnasium, they are constantly on the move.

Social and Emotional: We provide an atmosphere where we encourage play guided by teachers, but directed by the students. We want to encourage social interaction and respect for one another. We believe that children learn best when they are at play with one another.

*We have earned a “Two Star” quality rating as a facility that is committed to maintaining compliance with program regulations and to enhancing early learning through “Keystone Stars.”

Parent Partnership:

We value the partnership between the home and the school. We encourage parent involvement in our special events that take place on a weekly and/or monthly basis at Christian Life Academy. There are many other places within our program that parent volunteers are welcome and appreciated.

Weekly Specials:

Chapel: Every Wednesday we gather the children for a time of Bible story telling and music and movement. We learn about the Bible and how the Bible teaches us to live our lives.

Music and Movement: Two times a week your student will be a part of a 30-minute program that improves their gross motor skills, coordination skills and music skills through a gym class put to music at an age-appropriate level.

Special Yearly Events:

Thanksgiving Feast, Gingerbread House Decorating, Heartful Helpers, March is Reading Month, Dad’s Day Out, Mother’s Day, Field Day and Graduation for PK4/5.
